Since 1964, Tuza Horse Floats has grown its business by the quality and workmanship of its products. Designed and engineered for strength and durability, the company builds up to 200 customised horse floats annually, including heavy-duty gooseneck floats and floats of any size and capacity.

“Our relationship with BlueScope Distribution is a very good one – we almost never have any issues and even if there is some minor issue that needs dealing with, BlueScope Distribution take care of it straight away,” said Operations Manager Christine Cutajur.

“We provide most of the materials that go into the production of the horse floats – the 1.5mm and 1mm thick ZINCANNEAL® steel for the sides, front, back gate and roof, the RHS for the structural frame, and even 40mm Square Bar for the axle – basically, almost the entire horse float is made from our steel,” said John Brighton from BlueScope Distribution.

“However,” notes John, “providing superior steel products is not the only way BlueScope Distribution™ is helping Tuza Horse Floats. To streamline their own production processes, we have conducted a Steel Efficiency Review™ (SER), allowing Tuza to firmly align its fabricating with BlueScope’s procedures. This SER has meant their inventory costs and delivery times have become optimised so that not only has Tuza’s horse float output increased and now has a lower production cost, but combined with their legendary quality and design, Tuza has firmly cemented its name as the brand of choice for horse lovers across the nation,” said John.

We have found, our customers pursue the SER® as a vehicle to look at their business in a different way to make some small changes to reap big rewards. The Steel Efficiency Review® aims to provide recommendations to support our customer’s business and at the same time improve our product and service offer.
